It has been over a year I had not seen our old neighbor's daughter. She called me up to go out to lunch. I was looking forward to our get together since we set up the date to meet.
She had made plans to eat at Sala One Nine, a tapas place in Chelsea area. Clever of them to have named it as such since it's located on 19th Street! As a foodie, I couldn't wait to get there.
Here's the place where we ate:
To the left of the entrance is the bar. The place is quite big. The decor reminds me of tapas places in Spain.
I highly recommend ordering the squid which they grilled and marinated in garlic sauce. The sauce spikes up the flavor of squid. It was delicious and the squid was tender.

What tapas place would be complete without omelet with potatoes - also known as patatas bravas or Tortilla. It's one of my favorite things to order in a tapas place. I've been trying to perfect making them at home. It's not as easy to make as it looks. I'd rather order them out.
